SEL leadership starts with sharing the why

Being in-tune with students’ social emotional needs is much more than discussing how they are feeling.
SEL is an important component of the MTSS process. Dysregulated students struggle to learn until they regulate. SEL data is needed with behavioral and academic data.
SEL curricula has out-paced SEL assessment, intervention planning, and progress monitoring tools. Current solutions and curriculum focus on Tier 1 instruction.
Districts provide training, but they may be unsure of how to evaluate the success of these efforts or how to weave SEL into schools’ existing data structures.
Districts with effective SEL integrations produce students who report a positive climate and experience more success academically.
Have the opportunity to build on the current systems in place in districts by integrating the MTSS/RTI model.
MTSS/RTI provides a framework for districts to use to ensure students do not slip through the cracks.
These programs allow for targeted interventions to address specific skill gaps across a variety of learners.
Satchel Pulse seamlessly integrates with and enhances current district workflows to ensure that SEL improvements can be made.
Identify students needing additional SEL support with Satchel Pulse’s intelligent screening, assessment and interventions process connected with MTSS/RTI.
Use the Satchel Pulse universal screener, designed specifically from the CASEL Framework, to assess all students on the 5 core competencies.
The Satchel Pulse screeners include a student self-assessment along with a teacher assessment. Students whose results indicate a need for potential intervention are automatically delivered a diagnostic assessment.
Find out more about SEL Screening and AssessmentFollowing screener and diagnostic data, Satchel Pulse provides automated tier recommendations for students.
Users have the option to approve all recommendations or only matching tier scores. This allows for a batch approval of recommendations where there is a score agreement between the student and teacher.
Find out more about SEL Intervention ManagementOnce students are placed into tiers, they can be assigned to intervention groups based on a number of different factors including low SEL subskill, grade level or class.
Once groups are identified, students can be assigned one at a time or by group to an intervention. Satchel Pulse provides the tools to create, assign, start, and monitor interventions over time.
Find out more about SEL Intervention ManagementUse the Satchel Pulse intervention library to find recommended learning pathways for intervention groups.
The library is searchable by a variety of factors such as CASEL competency, subskill, and grade level. Teachers can rate and comment on lessons they are using which facilitates an informal professional learning network amongst teachers across the district.
Find out more about SEL LessonsAssess the health of interventions through a variety of reports. Review how schools are doing across CASEL competencies with a school and district report.
Monitor real-time movement of students between tiers with a tier movement dashboard. Quickly assess whether interventions supporting students moving into tier 1 are still needed.
